Choirs
Choral singing has been a mainstay of Latvian culture and social life since the mid-nineteenth century. They are the cornerstone of the Song Festival tradition, which has been ongoing since 1873 through good times and bad. Even when song festivals could not be held, Latvians did not stop singing. Both choral and social singing were strong during the DP camp period
